Kenya Society of Environmental, Biological and Agricultural Engineers (KeSEBAE) (formerly the Kenya Society of Agricultural Engineers) is a professional society dedicated to the advancement of science and the art of engineering in environment, food, energy, water, and related fields. Our vision is to promote and advance the development of our member’s profession in Kenya and beyond. We seek to become a key knowledge partner and visible policy advocate on the role of engineering and technology in the transformation and industrialization of the environment, food, energy, and water towards achieving sustainable development in Kenya.
Since 1972 when it was formed, the Society has engaged in the following:
Advocacy
KeSEBAE advocate for policies, laws and practices that protect environment, support human development and improve the well-being of society generally. It also advocates the welfare of its members.
Training and Mentorship
The society is an accredited Continuous Professional Development (CPD) provider by Engineering Board of Kenya (EBK), this enables it to promote professional development through several means such as educational webinars, excursions, annual internal conferences among others.
Our Society is committed to promoting professional development among its members, ensuring they remain abreast with current technologies and practices. The Society currently runs a mentorship programme aimed at having its young members attain registration as professional engineers recognized in Kenya and abroad.
It also supports initiatives by sister institutions such as the Pan African Society of Agricultural Engineers (PASAE).
Publications
JEAE
Journal of Engineering in Agriculture and Environment, JEAE, is a quality peer-reviewed journal that KeSEBAE published quarterly in the following areas; the environment, agriculture, biology-based production and processing industries. JEAE has been in circulation since 2003, it has both ISSN and Crossref recognition and is duly indexed in google scholar.
KeSEBAE NEWS
KeSEBAE News is a monthly newsletter where members of the Society discuss topical issues of concern to their various professions. The newsletter provides regular updates to members and the community generally on day-to-day activities of the Society.
